Dr. Rakhee Thakar, Advisor and Pediatrician
After her MD from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi and pediatric practice in the nation’s capital, Dr. Rakhee Thakar moved to Gujarat to serve the rural poor. The disturbing rise in lifestyle diseases in both rural and urban communities, along with the quest for a solution, led her to study Ayurveda.
This unique combination of modern medicine and the ability to integrate it with the ancient science of Ayurveda gives her an edge in treating patients at Punarnava, a holistic health center, that she heads on the campus of Sharada Prabha. Health education, for both adults and children, fulfills her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. She is the Managing Trustee of Divya Pratibha Trust, the trust that runs Sharada Prabha.
