At Sharada Prabha, children meet Sanskrit from Playgroup onwards, not as a subject to memorise but as the foundation of how we learn. Through it, they connect with the wisdom traditions of Bharat in a natural, joyful way.
A Language With Deep Roots
Sanskrit is the language of the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Gita. We integrate it from Playgroup onwards because sacred Sanskrit texts form the foundation of our educational approach.
Our motto, sā vidyā yā vimuktaye, “knowledge is that which liberates”, is in Sanskrit too. It reminds us that learning should free the mind, not just fill it with information.

From Sanskrit, children are introduced to the wisdom traditions that spring from it, including yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and Indian classical arts. Vedic rituals and kirtan bring the language to life through sound, rhythm and togetherness.
What Children Gain
Sanskrit connects children to Vedic culture, improves memory, aids speech development, calms the mind and makes learning other languages easier.
Vedic rituals help focus the mind, plant values and spread peace. Together, they give children a quiet strength that stays with them.
We also celebrate the major festivals of Bharat with discussions on their cultural, spiritual and scientific significance, so children understand the “why” behind what they chant and celebrate. Come and see how it looks in a real school day.
